Normally the rain dominates the topic of conversation each month but that was not the case for November. The coldest November in decades resulted in temperatures remaining in the mid 20’s, with not one day recorded over 30 degrees (why did I bother putting in a pool at home!)
With little growth during the month & the annual greens renovations around the corner we focused on full course mowing to ensure the rest of the course was in good order whilst we ripped up our greens.
We under took a couple of construction projects around the tee stations during the month with the 13thbridge getting “The Great Wall” built & a new sleeper walkway to the men’s 5th tee, complete with hand rail for those with aging bodies..
To the Reno’s:
- All greens were scarified at -3mm 6 times over.
- Cored with 12mm hollow tynes
- Pick up with the core harvester
- Fertilised
- Soli amendments added
- Top-dressed
- Broomed in
I can't speak highly enough of the maintenance team who completed this year’s greens renovation by Tuesday evening after completing 2 days of 14 hour shifts.
See you on Course,
Glenn Beauclerc
Your Friendly Course Superintendent

Congratulations to Cathy Granger who managed to score a HOLE IN ONE last month. Cath was lucky enough to hole out on the 4th Hole during Saturday’s competition. Unfortunately, she kept using her ball and lost it in the water on the 7th hole.
Also congratulations to Sharon Blake who had a hole in one during last Sunday’s Mixed Socialites tournament. Sharon was successful with an ace on the 17th Hole. Well done ladies!!!

Tired or aching feet, knee or heal pains after golf?? Try the new Biomechanical Golf Orthotics available for purchase now in the golf shop. This new product is recommended by podiatrists and golf professionals alike. Golf Orthotics greatly enhance balance during the stance and swing by redistributing weight to the entire foot. They force the foot to regain it’s arch structure and correct the alignment of the ankle and heel.
They also prevent common golf injuries such as lower back, arms, shoulder joints, knees and many foot ailments. This product comes with a 30 day money back guarantee if you do not notice the difference. See golf shop staff for any questions.

Hi Members,
Another year has flown by and Christmas has approached at light speed. The maintenance team has managed to get through green and tee renovations mostly unscathed due to some better weather during the days. Unfortunately renovations are a necessary evil that we need to undertake annually to ensure the course is at it’s peak throughout the year. The greens should be back to a great standard before Christmas with the right conditions over the next few weeks. Player numbers will be down considerably over the coming weeks so get out and enjoy the course before the festive break.
All of our honourboard events have wrapped up for the 2010 season and a big congratulations to all of our winners. The presentation evening will be held on Friday night the 3rd December with all member’s and guests welcome to attend. Bookings can be made with Neale in the Club bar, 3 course A-La-Carte menu, complimentary drink on arrival and entertainment only $35 members and $45 for guests. Whilst the course is recovering from renovations there will be no Monthly medal event for December, this was held last weekend. The Thursday Oakley competition was also wrapped up in November and next years weekly events will start again on the first Thursday in January.
Our 2011 Junior Pennants season begin’s next weekend and will continue through till February 2011. Any interested juniors who would like to play please contact me in the golf shop ASAP. Good luck to the boys who are out to go one better this time round.
Finally, I wish all member’s and their families a safe and Merry Christmas and hope 2011 brings you the spoils. Enjoy the festive season!!!
Good golfing and hope to see you on the green!
Regards,
Dion Mullen
Director of Golf and Membership
