Q Your ball is off the green, but close enough that you want to putt; however, directly in your putting line – between your ball and the green – is a sprinkler head. Do you get to move your ball so that you don't have to putt over the sprinkler head?
A In order to take relief because of interference with the line of your putt, your ball must be on the green. In our example, however, the ball is off the green. Therefore, you cannot move the ball. Your options are to go ahead and putt across the sprinkler head, or to chip the ball over the obstruction and onto the green.

Hi Members,
A mild winter in comparison to previous years and the course is holding up beautifully to date. After a couple of days of heavy rain, I would again ask that everybody remains on the paths as often as possible to ensure our course remains at it’s best and play’s fairly for everyone. A couple of quieter months behind us now, the tee sheets will build considerably over the next month or so with many tour groups and corporate events coming up. To avoid disappointment remember to book in early online and also check the upcoming events schedule to check on some time changes and shotgun starts for members competitions. This is our busiest period of the year and much needed revenue for our golf club so we can continue to improve the course and clubhouse facilities.
The Individual Matchplay championships wrapped up in July with great participant numbers this year. Congratulations to Sharon Blake who defeated Pam Potter in the ladie’s final 4&3 and also Zoltan Pinter defeated Paul Lynch in the men’s event with the same score. Entries are now available in the golfshop for the upcoming Club Championships, please don’t forget to enter before the cutoff date of 5pm, Saturday 31st July. Late entries will not be accepted.
Finally, all our newsletter information plus daily information updates is now available on the Robina Woods Blog, for details on how to find this site just ask the golf shop staff. Also, if you have any funny stories, photos or general information you would like to see in the newsletter or on the blog please let me know and I will try and include.
Good golfing and hope to see you on the green!
Regards,
Dion Mullen

At the time of writing this review of the month I have to say it’s absolutely bucketing down, 60mm overnight & plenty more to come according to the radar!
It’s been a busy month on the construction front with new gardens & path ways on both the 5th & 6th tees along with a new pedestrian footbridge on the 7th hole.
Native plants have been the choice for both these sites due to there drought hardiness (if it ever stops raining) & the ever increasing bird life they attract.
Up coming projects will be the 3rd, 12th & 18th tees with new sleeper walls & steps required.
On the greens:
Two applications of liquid fert.
One application of fungicide.
It’s unusual that we haven’t had a frost this winter to completely brown off all the roughs. The course is still holding its colour well & with no growth occurring the machines have remained in the sheds for weeks on end. This has provided a terrific opportunity to clean along the boundary fence lines along with implementing a tree maintenance programme which entails either pruning or removal followed up with mulching.
See you on course.
Glenn Beauclerc,
Your Friendly Course Superintendent.
